Dredging
Although Sliedrecht is a renowned centre for dredging, we are still one of the few dredging companies based there. Dredging is our core activity.
We dredge for a range of reasons on inland waterways and at sea:
Maintenance
To return harbours, ports, marinas and shipping lanes to working order if they have become silted up.
Beach nourishment
Replacement of sand lost through longshore drift or erosion sand.
Shallow water
Nourishment to prevent erosion of the river banks.
Rainbowing
For creating land or raising the level of existing land.
Subfluvial trenches
For fitting pipes in the river/sea bed.
Remediation
Removal of contaminated layers of earth or sub-strata (sub-surface dredging).
Sand dredging
Use or sale of sand for other purposes.
Nearly all of our plant and equipment can be used for dredging. Hopper dredgers and cutter dredgers are specific dredging machines, while our crane vessels and other equipment are also each equipped for dredging work. So that we can follow your instructions to the letter, our vessels are equipped with a dredging monitoring system. Information obtained from hydrographical surveys can be fed to the system together with digital theoretical models to aid dredging work.
For each specific situation and each location, small, large, deep or shallow, we have the right people for the job and the right equipment to carry out your job to a high-quality finish.
